How to Buy a Firearm Online at BattleHawk Armory
The Complete Online Shopper’s Guide to Firearm Purchases
Buying a firearm online is a legal and straightforward process. Federal law requires that firearms be shipped to a licensed dealer (FFL) rather than a residential address. Once your order arrives at your local dealer, you’ll complete the standard transfer process in accordance with federal and local laws. Aside from where you pay for the firearm, the required paperwork and background check process are nearly identical to buying a gun in person.
Find Your Firearm & Place Your Online Order
Browse our inventory of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Once you’ve selected your firearm, proceed through our secure checkout to finalize your purchase.
Choose Your Local FFL Dealer for Transfer
Because firearms must be delivered to a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL), you will need to select a local gun shop or range to handle the FFL transfer. During checkout, use our integrated FFL locator to find a dealer in your area. If your preferred dealer is not in our system, have them email a copy of their license to us with your order number referenced. Most dealers charge an FFL transfer fee; we recommend contacting them ahead of time to confirm their policies.
Firearm Shipping to Your Dealer
Once we verify your local dealer’s license, we securely pack and ship your firearm directly to their place of business. You will receive a tracking number so you can monitor the firearm shipping progress until it arrives at your chosen destination.
Finalizing the FFL Transfer
When the firearm arrives at your local dealer, they will process the arrival and manage the legal transfer. Your local FFL will guide you through the necessary identification, background checks, and any state-specific requirements needed to take possession of the firearm.
Important Considerations
- State & Local Restrictions: It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure the firearm is legal to own in their specific jurisdiction. Please check your local laws regarding magazine capacity or specific features before ordering.
- California Shipping: We do not ship any products to the state of California.
- Post-Transfer Issues: If you discover any blemishes or have any issues with the gun after it’s been transferred, please contact the manufacturer for warranty or service. We do not accept firearm returns after a transfer is complete.
