Day 1: Range Day — January 20
Giveaway Keyword: RANGEDAY
The BattleHawk Armory team—Evan, Ian, Ryan, and Jordan—kicked off Day 1 at Range Day, gathering firsthand impressions of newly unveiled firearms, suppressors, and optics. Below is a detailed account of what we encountered throughout the day:
7:00 AM Entry: We arrived at Prairie Fire Range to explore high-end releases from top manufacturers.
CGS Group: Showcased brand-new 3D-printed 9mm and .45 ACP suppressors featuring an advanced heat-dissipating coating. Also teased an experimental Ares 6—a lightweight, 3D-printed titanium .30 cal suppressor akin to the Hyperion but notably less heavy.
CAT: Introduced multiple new suppressors, including:
- BBK — 8.6 caliber titanium suppressor
- T-Swift — a multipart 5.56 suppressor
- Akbar — a .46 caliber titanium suppressor
We weren’t able to shoot CAT’s new cans right away but planned to circle back later for hands-on testing.
Dead Air: They had a new product under embargo. Ian got to shoot it thanks to some special mil creds, but no public details can be shared just yet—stay tuned!
Kahles K40i 5-40 Scope: Exceptional clarity at high magnification; the field of view was noticeably impressive.
Oracle 2311 Pro Elite: A fully metal framed pistol, ported barrel, and rumored to accept SIG P320 magazines. Soft-shooting, fully ambidextrous, and entirely in-house production from Oracle.
We also encountered new goodies like the Walther PFP F-X Compact (great trigger & recoil mitigation) and Staccato HD P 4.5"—fully ambidextrous with a stellar track record.
Alpha Foxtrot Romulus Comp: Another double-stack 1911 that punches above its weight—threaded/pushed compensator, optics-ready, and a price that won't break the bank.
Thunder Beast Arms .50 BMG Suppressor: Full titanium build, shockingly quiet in live demos.
Kel-Tec PR57: Jordan’s top pick. It uses clips for a 20+1 internal capacity rather than standard mags. Extremely easy takedown and rotating-barrel design that yields very soft recoil.
Aimpoint COA (“A-Cut”): Sits lower for better co-witness, spreading mounting stress across the optic body instead of just 2 points. Expect excellent durability and alignment.
B&T PrintX Cans: New 3D-printed titanium suppressors featuring Inconel inserts and a steel end cap for flash suppression. Incredibly lightweight—practically feels like nothing at the muzzle.
