The Ruger American Duty TRUMP 45 is a striker-fired, polymer-frame pistol, utilizing the Browning-type locked-breech action with a unique barrel cam modification that reduces recoil by spreading the recoil impulse out over time, resulting in reduced muzzle flip. The reduced recoil with the pistol's low center of gravity and low bore axis work in unison to enhance control during rapid fire. The steel trigger has a central trigger safety lever to prevent the pistol from firing unless the trigger is fully depressed. A short trigger take-up with an excellent reset aids in obtaining top accuracy.
