Federal's Premium Law Enforcement HST line of Jacketed Hollow Point duty ammunition offers tremendous expansion coupled with deep penetration and maximum weight retention. This duty load has a pre-slotted bullet tip which causes the bullet to expand into large cloverleaves resulting in a very significant wound channel. The unique construction of this bullet activates during expansion in a controlled manner actually forcing the outer layers of lead to protect the copper core. This results in increased weight retention allowing the bullet to still achieve deep penetration through a variety of barriers as prescribed in testing using the FBI's test protocols.
