Next-Generation MDC-47 Pestilence

The original Pestilence was built using Romanian military surplus components. Meridian Defense takes the next generation considerably further with its precision-built MDC 100 Series components, manufactured in the United States for tighter tolerances, consistency and durability.

The result preserves the unmistakable appearance of the original Pestilence while substantially modernizing what's underneath the battleworn exterior.

The rifle is built around an MDC-47 100 Series fully heat-treated stamped receiver and a U.S.-made 14.5" Cold Hammer Forged, chrome-lined 4150 CMV barrel. The upgraded CHF barrel provides excellent heat resistance and service life while replacing the black-nitrided barrel of the previous-generation Pestilence.

14.5" P&W ASR Suppressor-Ready Configuration

This MDC-47 is fitted with a SilencerCo ASR 3-Port Muzzle Brake, permanently pinned and welded to the 14.5" barrel to create a 16"+ legal rifle barrel configuration.

That ASR interface becomes particularly relevant in this Deployment Kit because BattleHawk Armory also includes a SilencerCo Omega 36M suppressor.

The Omega 36M is a modular, multi-caliber suppressor that can be configured in its full-length or shorter configuration. The included Charlie ASR Mount provides the interface for compatible SilencerCo ASR muzzle devices, making the Omega 36M a natural addition to this particular Pestilence configuration.

Suppressor possession, transfer and use remain subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

Fully Adjustable Gas System

Meridian equips the next-generation Pestilence with a fully adjustable MDC gas system.

The adjustable low-profile gas block allows the operating system to be tuned for different ammunition and configurations, including suppressed and unsuppressed operation. This adds another modern performance feature while retaining the traditional appearance and operating characteristics that make the MDC-47 an AK at heart.

EOTECH EXPS3-0 + Midwest Industries AK Mount

The Deployment Kit adds an EOTECH EXPS3-0 Holographic Weapon Sight featuring EOTECH's familiar 68 MOA ring and 1 MOA center-dot reticle.

The EXPS3 series features a quick-detach mounting system, raised base and night-vision-compatible settings.

To provide a dedicated mounting solution for the AK platform, BattleHawk Armory also includes the Midwest Industries Gen 2 AK Side Scope Mount. The hard-coat anodized aluminum mount attaches to a standard AKM receiver rail and utilizes a tool-free QD locking system.

Together, the EOTECH and Midwest Industries mount give the Pestilence a modern optic setup while leaving the rifle's unmistakable Apocalypse aesthetic intact.
