The LMT MARS-L Rifle is unique because it utilizes an MRP or Monolithic Rail Platform upper receiver which incorporates the upper receiver and handguard into a single part that is CNC machined from a solid piece of aerospace-grade, heavy duty aluminum. The MRP system offers an unparalleled optic mounting platform since there is no movement due to recoil (point of impact shifts) whatsoever between the upper and handguard, unlike most AR-15 platforms. Using two locking bolts and a barrel nut, the 16” 41V50 CMV Steel barrel is held into place with 360 degrees of force. This method of barrel attachment lets the user quickly conduct barrel swaps (different calibers and lengths) with a T-30 Torx bit and torque wrench.
