The LMT Defense MRP-L Specwar 12.5” Midlength Complete Upper Receiver Group represents one of the most advanced and battle-proven AR-15 upper receiver systems available today. Designed in collaboration with specialized warfighters, the Specwar platform blends the legendary durability of LMT’s Monolithic Rail Platform (MRP™) with a 12.5” mid-length gas system that delivers exceptional reliability, smoother recoil impulse, and improved performance when running suppressors.

At the core of this system is the MRP-L monolithic receiver, precision-forged from a single piece of aerospace-grade aluminum. This one-piece receiver and handguard design eliminates traditional barrel nut flex, creating an extremely rigid platform that improves accuracy, maintains optic and laser zero, and stands up to the harshest operational environments. The 11.5” Specwar M-LOK chassis removes forward QD sling mounts to maximize usable rail space and improve ergonomics for modern accessory setups.

The included 12.5” chrome-lined mid-length gas barrel features a shorter dwell time, which helps reduce internal component wear while increasing reliability—especially when used with suppressors. The barrel installs into the MRP system using LMT’s proprietary dual locking bolt system, allowing secure installation and rapid barrel changes with a standard T-30 Torx wrench.

Completing the package is LMT’s Full-Auto M16 Bolt Carrier Group, built to the same standards supplied to the U.S. Department of Defense, and the LMT Ambidextrous Charging Handle featuring enhanced tactical latches for superior ergonomics and durability.
