J.Bennett Designs Omega Valve Mod 1 Tunable Gas Valve
For Sig Sauer MCX 5.56 / 7.62x39 - Suppressor Optimized The J.Bennett Designs Omega Valve Mod 1 is the first tunable gas valve for the Sig Sauer MCX. Manufactured from 17-4 stainless steel via additive DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) and coated with advanced hexagonal boron nitride, the Omega Valve transforms suppressed MCX performance. Features four gas positions, extended gas flow paths, and Parker Mountain Machine SCAR gas jet screws for precise tuning. When dialed in correctly, the Omega Valve delivers softer recoil impulse, reduced at-ear sound signature when suppressed, and marginally reduced toxic gas exposure. Compatible with Sig Sauer MCX Virtus, Spear LT, and Rattler LT in 5.56. Works with 7.62x39 barrels when suppressed. Includes solid set screw and 2.5mm wrench.
Four Gas Positions
The Omega Valve indexes on the gas valve retaining pin rather than a ball detent within the gas block, enabling four distinct gas positions compared to the original two. This expanded adjustment range provides finer control over gas flow for optimal tuning across different ammunition types and suppressor configurations.
Extended Gas Flow Paths
Extended gas flow paths delay gas entry into the expansion chamber of the valve, slowing the cycling speed of the rifle. This delayed gas entry reduces bolt carrier velocity, resulting in softer recoil impulse and reduced mechanical stress on components during sustained fire.
Parker Mountain Machine Gas Jet Screws
The Omega Valve utilizes Parker Mountain Machine SCAR gas jet screws, allowing venting of excess gas out the front of the valve. This active gas management enables precise tuning to eliminate over-gassing while maintaining reliable function. Micro jet screws are also available for even finer system tuning.
DMLS 17-4 Stainless Steel Construction
Manufactured via Direct Metal Laser Sintering from 17-4 stainless steel, the Omega Valve features complex internal geometries impossible to achieve through traditional machining. The additive manufacturing process enables optimized gas flow paths and precise indexing features. The 17-4 stainless steel provides exceptional strength and corrosion resistance.
Hexagonal Boron Nitride Coating
The advanced hexagonal boron nitride coating provides extreme lubricity and temperature resistance. This coating reduces friction, prevents carbon buildup, and maintains performance under the elevated temperatures generated during suppressed fire.
Suppressor Optimized Design
The Omega Valve was designed specifically to tune suppressed performance. When properly adjusted, it reduces the harsh recoil impulse, excessive gas blowback, and elevated sound signature that plague over-gassed suppressed MCX rifles. The valve enables comfortable, controllable suppressed shooting regardless of ammunition or suppressor choice.
Reduced At-Ear Sound Signature
When shooting suppressed, the Omega Valve reduces at-ear sound signature by controlling gas flow and bolt carrier velocity. Slower cycling reduces mechanical noise while proper gas tuning prevents excessive gas escape from the ejection port during the unlocking cycle.
Marginally Reduced Toxic Gas Exposure
Proper gas tuning with the Omega Valve marginally reduces shooter exposure to toxic combustion gases during suppressed fire. While not eliminating gas exposure entirely, the controlled gas flow and reduced port pressure decrease the volume of gas directed back toward the shooter.
MCX Virtus, Spear LT, and Rattler LT Compatible
The Mod 1 Omega Valve has been tested and confirmed compatible with Sig Sauer MCX Virtus, Spear LT, and Rattler LT rifles in 5.56. The valve also functions with 7.62x39 barrels when used with a suppressor, though it was optimized for 5.56 performance. Some late-production Legacy MCX rifles may be compatible, but earlier Gen 1 Legacy MCX rifles require the Legacy-specific Omega Valve.
Not Compatible With 5.5" 5.56 or 300 Blackout
The Mod 1 Omega Valve will not function in 5.5-inch 5.56 barrels or any 300 Blackout MCX rifles. These platforms require different gas system tuning characteristics.
Additive Manufacturing Variability
Due to the additive manufacturing process, not all valves print identically. Some units may require sanding or turning to fit within specification and may exhibit a more polished finish than others. This variability is inherent to DMLS production and does not affect function when properly fitted. The J.Bennett Designs Omega Valve Mod 1 delivers precise gas tuning for suppressed Sig MCX rifles—transforming over-gassed performance into smooth, controllable shooting.
