The original GL/SSC was a slightly shorter RIS II variant intended for 12.5" barrel use, maintaining grenade launcher mounting ability in a more compact package. The new production rails are marked "Savannah, GA" to distinguish them from the original 125 units marked "Black Creek, GA."

12.5" Cold Hammer Forged Barrel

The 12.5" barrel is cold hammer forged from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with government profile, chrome-lined bore, and Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coating. The 1:7 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights including heavier 77-grain match ammunition. Threaded 1/2x28 with A2 flash hider.

GL/SSC RIS II 11.5" FDE Quad Rail

The free-floating, battle-proven GL/SSC RIS II Rail System provides four continuous Picatinny rails for maximum accessory mounting flexibility. This slightly shorter variant retains the grenade launcher mounting ability of the original through its versatile two-piece design. CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with Type III hard coat anodized Flat Dark Earth finish.

M203 and Suppressor Compatible

The GL/SSC design accommodates both M203 grenade launcher mounting (or M320 with adapters) and suppressor use. The free-float handguard allows for M203 attachment without contacting the barrel, ensuring accuracy is not affected during operation.
